  • What are bleeds?

    "Bleeds" is a term that refers to the printing going right to the edge of the paper, usually beyond where the paper is cut. This will leave your printed piece with a clean, colored edge of paper.

  • What are pantone colors?

    Pantone colors are specifically mixed inks for a certain color. They are made with a color-matching system for the best accuracy and are usually used for logos or other situations that require a specially designed color. 

  • What is the difference between spot and process (CMYK) colors?

    Spot color and process color, although may yield a similar result, are very different options when it comes to printing. Spot color is when you apply premixed ink to the page that is all one solid color, whereas process color applies the four main colors (CMYK) in layers of dots to produce the color.

  • What format should be used when submitting files?

    For submitting files, it is always important to save them to whatever space you were working on them so that you can edit them worry-free later, and then send them to us in a Hi-Resolution PDF so we can easily access and print them.

  • What are raster files?

    A raster file is one of the most common types of files. There are many different colored pixels that are compiled to make up the image. Different types of raster files including JPEG and PNGs.

  • What are vector files?

    Vector files are extremely useful files and are used most commonly when it comes to printing. Vector files are mathematically adjusted and defined lines that make the image crisp and clear, allowing the user to expand or shrink the image without losing clarity.

  • Why do prints appear darker on paper than on a screen?

    Images on the screen look a lot different than how the colors come out on paper and it is important to take this into consideration when creating designs on a computer. Since the screen on tablets and computers use light to emit the color of images, the colors tend to seem brighter and more vibrant than on paper.
